Soon after the Revolution, reactionary elements began to plot against the new Citizens' Government, leading to the attempted 'May Coup' of disgruntled soldiers and police officers hoping to install a military junta instead.
After the Citizens' Militia crushed the May Coup, all those involved were arrested and subjected to the Revolution's preferred punishment - 'The Drive Past', where the prisoners of the people were stripped bare and driven around the city for the common folk to voice their anger at the counter-revolutionaries. With so many involved in the May Coup, the streets of the capital rumbled with passing trucks for days afterwards.
1
