The far left group, The Red Battalion, had become frustrated by what it saw as the Revolutionary Government's lack of radical policies, leading them to launch an attempted 'Second Revolution'. The Legislative Building was stormed by Red Guards who took the security staff prisoner after burning their uniforms as symbols of 'bourgeois subservience'.
The Citizens' Militia struck back and stormed the building, rescuing the hostages and crushing the uprising. The surviving Red Guards were sentenced to the Revolution's preferred punishment - 'The Drive Past', where prisoners were stripped naked and driven around the city for the people to express their rage at enemies of the new republic.
Now the radicals knew not to mess with the Citizens' government.
