When I was around 12-13 and watched the original scene with Cell and No.18 that awakened something on me I only understood years later. I'm not into vore and I never was, but there's something with that scene (unorthodox vore as you point out) that presses the right buttons. I'd say it's the helplessness yes. It's probably also the tight wrapping around her body - well, I DO like wrapping my arms around a woman.
