^ The desert people from Sumeru got pretty dark. At least the side quest ones. The playable ones are lacking though.

The word "asmar ()" in Arabic is actually used to describe dark people with a reddish tanned complexion, and places with such people may have "samr" in their name. Looks like it could refer to either place (both near the dessert) but Sumeru may have been named based on this.
