If there was a major studio with the balls to actually make a high budget summer blockbuster adaptation of Kuroinu I'd be so happy. Not only would it be refreshing to watch a movie where the "strong" female characters get put firmly in there place, but the public bleating and outrage over it would contrast pretty well with the constant schlicking, slurping, and moaning sounds coming from the audience on opening night. I could see it staying around for months as it became a popular date night movie.
