Others have brought it up already, but yeah, native Pinay women are not that light in their skin tone, especially before the Spanish colonization. There's a fair amount of ladies that look mestiza in the modern day though, especially after having a lot of friendly activity with Americans in the post-WW2 era. It's silly how women use skin-bleaching soaps in many Asian countries, meanwhile we have pale women in the west using tanning booths or spray-on tans. The 'body positivity' movement is sleeping on that issue.
