This is something new to her, being on top of her Beloved, able to set the pace... seeing how much he really does want her, from the physical responses to his tender actions, one hand reaching up to hold onto her free one. It's taken a long, long time to get to this point, delaying the transition into something more intimate. The two are stained by memories, but even so, they're able to move forward and become one. They've seen the best and worst of each other, taken steps to try and become someone they feel is worthy of love, and find themselves being accepted by someone who believed they were from the start.
