I am the same person who posted 6333487 and I will say there is one thing that gives me hope for the the Netflix adaption. The actor who is playing Spike apparently loves the original show and appears to be doing all he can to represent the show and character properly. I thought I should come back and say this to be fair to someone who appears to be genuinely trying to make something good and I only hope everyone around him is as dedicated.

Poster of 6333487 and 6359183 here. I basically agree with 7266548. It ultimately think the fault is on the shoulders of the Netflix system and what ever they call show runners. I think everyone else did the best they could but executives did far to much damage for the project to succeed and think they should have tried adapting something like Outlaw Star. If they had done that there is a chance they would have made the mistakes there and, while making a watchable show, learned from those mistakes before adapting one of the best animated shows ever made.
