Joining on the "is Kris canon" convo, She is canon, because Pokemon Crystal is a main series Pokmon game. Also, anon4s argument with Pokmon Masters holds, because every unlockable sync pair, outside of Lear + friends and mc are based on the main series Pokmon games, every character has appeared in a Main Series game, which makes them canonical. Note that Jessie and James are in Masters, who appeared first in the anime, but have appeared in the games (Yellow, and LGPE). So although Kris has only appeared in a third version of one Pokmon game, and not even in the remake, she still should be considered canon, besides the fact that she also was the first female playable character in the series, which you could use as an argument as well
