In a desperate attempt to attract Geralt of Rivia, Shani purposely wandered into an abandoned village to rig her kidnapping. To shock for a young doctor, the village was already inhabited by a pack of ghouls. Long story short, Alpha male instead of eating her, decided to turn her into his bitch.
And quite successfully.

That is Shani's year long companion and pet, Grik the domesticated house ghoul.They were so close that Geralt thought it cute and funny to organize a little house wedding for them. Shani was thrilled and enjoyed it, because she really has feelings for Grik. He's such a good boy, you always know what to expect of him.
