Hypothetically, being made of stardust, would he not be able to heal himself? Even if we say he can't exponentially heal removed parts, as that would break the laws of physics of creating matter, would he not be able to re-meld/re-absorb parts to his body via physical contact or consumption? Additionally, even if we completely ignore that idea in favour of acknowledging the player's ability to apparently kill him despite this (though this may be caused only by major damage to a vital organ or organs, or perhaps only by damaging or destroying the brain itself, if it controls the conscious though to regenerate) he is still, as his name suggests, the "rules card" of the deck, and thus posesses a degree of control over the reality around him, though for as of yet unknown but widely hypothesized on reasons, he uses this ability sparingly. These facts in mind, it is highly likely that, despite feeling pain, an injury as mundane in his case as removal of an extremity would have no lasting effect on him if the steps are taken to keep it from doing so.
