Because these are the proportions we look for in our ideal female shape these days. In the 90’s and 2000’s it was about huge boobs and top heavy women. Now our culture is obsessed with bottom heavy women: huge butts and thunder thighs. Some of its likely from booty-centric hip hop culture going mainstream.

Personally I prefer the ACTUAL proportions. You know, what the character is more-or-less supposed to actually look like. Not someone's warped, ruined 'fantasy' version of them.
