has anyone been able to use "Exceed" on nero properly or at least consistently? i find it to be kind of pointless and way too difficult to time properly in the heat of combat and combos. im mainly just trying to manage the overture devil breaker blast to end combos with for extra damage and style points and i have no time to even think about using exceed. thoughts?

Exceed just takes practice. I (somehow) still have the muscle memory from DMC4, so I've found the transition pretty easy. If you want to get consistent with it, go into the Abyss and practice. You'll be wanting to rev usually at the end of each swing--once you find those sweet spots, just ingrain them. Now that I'm used to it, it'd feel weird NOT to be trying to rev each swing.

It'll be frustrating, but that growth from getting by with what you need to to having glorious, luxurious, style is what makes these games so rich.

The Exceed timing is more lenient in the sense that if you mistime it you get "some" charge so if you mistime it 2 or 3 times in a row you get 1 gauge of exceed anyways, but yeah you really do get used to it I get 1 on most swings sometimes 3.

Can be a bit tricky to learn the Exceed timings for the faster slashes when you have charge or the ones with added moves like streak etc though that's where I had the most dif in DMC4
