i've never actually played a soul caliber game but i jack it too ivy often. what ive noticed tho is that a lot of the animations involve lizard guys, is that something to do with the game? like is it relevant? or is it just a random thing people do

Nah, Ivy being paired with Lizardmen is just a popular fan thing for porn. Continuity-wise Ivy and Aeon Calcos were in a group also consisting of Nightmare and Astaroth, but that's as far as it goes after she makes her heel-face turn.

It's also due to the fact Ivy was a villain at one point and even after her heel-face turn she only ever becomes a neutral party with her own self-interests that line up with the heroes motivations rather than one of the heroes outright.

Chicks with darker and more questionable personalities getting freaky with reptiles and spiders goes all the way back to stuff like interpretations of Eve's fall or Alexander the Great's scheming mother fornicating with snakes.

Combine that with her pretty heavy dominatrix vibe and it's just a porn pairing that naturally happened because it thematically fits together.
