you're right for the most part, but as a creator of blender animations i can safely say that 90% of creators don't make things they masturbate to. they make porn of whatever is the most popular at the minute, in hopes of getting more fans and more patrons. or they make whatever their fans request. i don't know any animator who masturbates to their own stuff.
