@M10doR34 The Bible simply said Cain was "marked" by God as punishment for murder and to warn others not to murder him. Just what that mark was was never specified. Where people got the idea it was a change in skin tone, I have no clue.@Anon #7040027 I'd always read Ham was cursed not just for seeing Noah naked, but for seeing Noah passed-out drunk and naked and going to his brothers to laugh about it rather than cover him up (which said brothers did). Noah was the one to curse Ham, and said he shall be the "lowest of slaves" to his brothers. Still, there was no indication that Ham was dark-skinned, but since the word "slave" is involved that's what many people think. It probably also doesn't help that at least one known dark-skinned people (Egyptians) are named as his descendants.
