This is a common issue with horses in source filmmaker. Most of the models don't provide a rig, so you need to make one yourself with one script. However, that script applies a rig according to how the human body moves, so it's fine with humans and dogs. However, since horse's front legs bend the opossite way, it looks like this.

If you try to force the joint tobend the opossite way with the rig applied, the legs break, so it looks awful. The only way to make it work would be to manually edit the code of the script to adjust the front legs joint, but isnot that easy unless you know how to code.

So yeah, most people would ignore that. It's not like that's the main focus on the scene anyway.

Actually, there are ways around this issue. You could just avoid using an IK rig at all. You can pose those joints however you want with the default FK rig. Of course, it's a pain to do that since all the bones are parented in the opposite direction. I'm pretty sure you can also apply an IK rig and then remove the constraints from the individual bones you want to manipulate independent of the rig. A really obvious workaround, though, is just to keep the broken legs out of the shot.

The only thing that would make this better was if that horse had a six pack xD
