i don't get why people don't get this ship. it's academic rivalry plus forbidden and misunderstood love... like are you kidding me? the only people who don't understand are those who ONLY watch the movies/have faith in canonlike why the FUCK would THE hermione granger ever settle for ron fucking weasley who has no emotional range and no logical sense outside of wizard chess like it's one thing to not fully agree with a person but that's not the issue... ron would never have the mental capacity to understand half of hermione's woes and desires for a better future; draco grew up in a family that pushed their beliefs down his throat but as a top student he must have realized this was bullshit throughout the years because a muggleborn outshined him in all classes and was clearly not lacking where a wizard would be in the way he was taught. ron is like that typical liberal where everything should be equal but they don't understand the meaning of equality which leads to layers of inequality (i.e mansplainigng, toxic masculinity, savior complex, etc) whereas draco could actually intellectually keep up with hermione while also unlearning all of the misinformation from his upbringing. ron is dumb as hell and shits on any type of intellectual and emotional growth period.
