Anyway as far as overrated goes, the following are my owm. If you disagree with me, thats ok. Just don't even try to step to me because you will get these hands.
1) Kratos, before the PS4 game. There were so many "Kratos is a badass and can beat everyone" topics it made me wanna smash my fist into a tv.
2) Batman. Yeah, before the pitchforks and torches come out, let me explain. I like Batman, he is one of the best DC heroes and the 90s animated series was awesome. And Batmam '89 is one of my top 10 favorite movies. But holy FUCK, a lot of the rabid fandom REALLY wants us to believe he is completely perfect and cam "beat anyone with prep time". These are also the ssme folks who believes that Superman can be beaten by Batman everytime and use The Dark Knight Returns or Tower of Babel to prove it. Which would be fine until you remember the following:
-The Dark Knight Returns was written by Frank Moller, a giy who for all intents and purposes has a hate boner for Superman and believes that the two of them can never be friends, and if you think I am exagerrating then go read " All Star Batman and Robin" and try not to scream "bat fucker" when you do. (You will be cursing that series for more reasons, but we are concentrating on Batman here) Keep in mind, these are Elseworld titles; in actual canon his success rate against Superman is...bad. For one example, in the Superman/Batman series, a Superman from an alternate future arrived in the Batcave to stop the two for unclear reasons. Batman tries to go for the kryptonite bullets he has stashed away and Evil Superman...pretty much just made it clear that was NOT going to happen. Batman has also admitted that Superman could very easily kill him if he wanted.
-As for 'prep time' thats not always the case. There has been stories where Batman had a plan and plenty of prep and it STILL didn't go as he thought (especially if The Joker is involved) and he had to do things on the fly. Thats another good thing about him though, he can be creative when the situation calls for it.
-And what about the Tower of Babel plan? Keep in mind,his original strategies were to subdue the Justice League should they ever go rogue, not kill them outright. It was just R'as who tweaked the plans. And just having said plans kind of came back to bite Batman in the ass later, as many in the JL did not know if they could trust him. Can you blame them?
Yeah, tbat was WAY longer than I intended. So let me add just this personal let peeve: WonderBat. Just...ugh. I mean it was ok in the JL Unlimited series, but if you try to cram it down our throats it loses its appeal. Now if you said HarleyBat or HarleyWing however...

As a comicbook fan I'm sort of sick of the "depends on the writer" type of character because to me those aren't characters their things to be written about. Superman I sort of understand because he was never meant to be a character he is a symbol which is ok I suppose from a purely objective standpoint which is why he's written to be literally whatever they need him to be but Batman had a clear character but now he's viewed as "I planned for this" the character that always has 200 steps on even the most calculated character. That can be cool but how certain stories handle that is baffling to me because a lot of it seems like how Superman is written and Superman is intentionally written to be stupidly powerful (unless the writers give him flaws like they have been doing).

I don't actually find many characters to be overrated. I don't think of R34 as a zero-sum game...it's not like "bleh...Princess Peach AGAIN? they could have drawn Maude Flanders instead!" I don't think that's how it works, but that's how it would have to work in one's mind to find a certain character being "overrated" as being a problem.

I think the thread's going for characters who are overrated in a rule 34 sense or just a general fan art sense. I guess a better name for the thread would be "characters you don't see the appeal of"

I believe it can work either way in terms of my thing which was me not liking the whole meme character thing. It might be due to exposure of a character which can make them overrated as maybe you aren't seeing what everyone else is seeing (Bowsette was the best example to me I often mistook her for Peach because her design was so boring and too similar to be called a completely new character) yet the whole internet was washed over yo either loved her to death or absolutely hated her and when it came to Youtube and people actually talking about this randomly made character it came full circle.

For me though its whoever that red head from Naruto is. I haven't watched Naruto past the first arc Garaa was in, and its not that I don't find her to be attractive, its just shes WAY oversaturated on this site within the certain themes I like to get off too. I'm just tired of seeing her.
