I'm on the fence about that, mainly because in cases like this thread which are relatively highly "special interest", not likely to appeal to everyone, and only have a few replies to begin with, I'd much rather see an old thread get necro'd than have a new thread for the same topic get started every so often. The "Latex" thread that recently got necro'd is another good example.

It'd depend on the topic and the time, especially since sometimes it's answering to someone that asked it years ago. Or just the response to the topic, it has to be something that actually restarts a conversation vs. Let me say yes to a years old conversation.

Examples, a topic titled "Have you ever been to any cool haunted houses?" being necro'd after a year because someone went to a haunted house and wanted to share, is more reasonable.


A topic titled "Can anyone else believe it's not butter?" Being necro'd after a year for a person to say "I can" is not
