Oh, yeah, it's rare but very rewarding when it happens. Feels good when someone appreciates the attention you give them. :)

I think some good advice is just be sure that you and the one you're rping with know what you want from the RP. Sometimes I've just got people ghosting me after 2 responses probably because the scene didn't go fast enough or they didn't like a certain thing in the RP. I always try to ask people what they want, if they want me to play a specific character. A lot of the time you'll get "surprise me!" and then get ignored if you do something they don't want.

If you want people to surprise you, be prepared to be surprised and don't just start ignoring them, just say you'd rather do something else and maybe both of you can then discuss what's best for both of you.

Something that should be avoided at all costs is complete indecisiveness to the point of sounding as if you don't care about the rp or insisting that people need to have a pic of their character. I find these to be massive turnoffs before the former wastes my time while the latter never meets with approval. I know I am guilty of indecisiveness, but that is more because as long as things are hot, steamy, and kinky, then does it truly matter? As for the images, it goes along with what Belgian_Guy said about the whole "surprise me" thing. I understand the purpose of it, but it also seems like the people that ask for a pic of your character have a lack of imagination and only wish to have drama. Most people can't get everything right and it's rude to expect them to find a pic for their character to your tastes when you won't be controlling that character.

So I honestly just try to follow suit with whatever the other person doing the RP goes with.
Unfortunately, it means as I RP with different people, I have accidentally switched perspectives (changing "her" to "you") So I hope that everyone I have RPed with has been ok. I have only been doing RP for a week, so I just hope that everyone is having fun. That is, after all, the entire point

This might be a petty gripe, but if you're not going to be online long... say so before doing a lot of prep work. Getting a little tired of setting up characters and a setting, only to put out a nice detailed opening post and never hear anything back. Say you just want a quick fuck and don't make me waste my time.

If you message someone who's a dragon loli, dont let your first message be:
"Hey you're legal right?"

Also, people asking for kik all the time. Like, if you wanna chat more with me ask "hey do you use a chat thing like kik or discord?"

Also, some guy messaged me asking if I was a girl irl. When i said yes he asked about irl things and pics.
I had to explain that im not here to become someones girlfriend xD
Unless hes ok with his girlfriend roleplaying with dozens of other dudes :p

90% of the time if someone suddenly stops messaging you, they most likely didn't just "fall asleep" or other bullshit. Especially when you see them online, commenting or worse, in the damn rp requests chat the next day.

I've actually had problems where people didn't get messages I sent and vice-versa. That's often a problem.
