Basic Roleplay Etiquette
I feel as though lots of us, myself included need a basic guideline of rules to follow when it comes to roleplaying. I'm sure some of us are very tired of wasting time with trying to find that next roleplay partner, only to have something rude or insufferable happen. So, post something you believe should be a rule, but don't repeat someone elses.

Pretty sure theres a topic that already covers this outlining of rules.

Was there? ...actually I do remember seeing one a long time ago, though it seems lost to the many pages...

No one-liners. They're boring and show little effort in roleplayng. Doesn't have to be a huge paragraph, but at least two or more lines that help develop the RP.

Be courteous when you are going offline or will be away. Let them know if you are. Otherwise you deserve to be ignored.

Don't be a ghoster atleast. That should be the biggest thing with the previous comment.

This exactly. I can see when people just upright leave the RP cause they lose interest in it, but not letting them know (even if it's just lying to be kind) and making them wait for a reply that's not coming is just dickish.

Be sure to use proper grammer if your partner is doing so as well.

Yeah, I hate how many users do this. If I'm gonna bounce I tell my partner that I'm not enjoying the scene anymore and we break mutually.

This is the exact reason why I ask the other person when I message them to tell me if and when they’re going to leave the RP. If you have no courtesy or politeness, you are subhuman to me.

Ah, how about do NOT start roleplaying what the other person is doing as well.

Yes "puppeteering" is a major faux pas in roleplaying.

Funny part is, I hope some of the people that know who they are, see this. I know what I'm guilty of...but this ain't the post to outright call out people.

I have had to puppeteer before but my partner was doing it a lot too and we both decided it was just moving the story along quicker. But I agree, there are some users i hope read either this, or one of the other RP tip forums.

Just going to stick myself in here to say, don't go to the two extremes of what your message will be if you're PMing someone. I will always ignore "suck my dick." or "M-miss Ahri... I-I-I-I-I'm like... you... your biggest fan... an-and i want to fuck you." (actual message I've received btw, a bit shortened though.) types of messages. They're boring and somewhat annoyed, leading me to ignoring most messages. I get like ten different people with these types of messages anytime I go on a commenting spree. Like, I'm probably going to cover your every fantasy if we RP since that's just how I am... but at least make yourself interesting.
