I personally don't know, I think it's just one of those things that varies from person to person I can totally understand your position.

A few different points can be made here, not all will apply to everyone, and i may miss things;

1. Exhilaration: The fact that its such a taboo can give an exhilarating feeling, similar to public sex, the idea of getting caught just makes it so much better, but once you ARE caught it's probably ruined for both of you.

2. Love: The people who have sex with are (often) the people you love, you love your family too - admittedly in a different way. But not everyone can distinguish the 2 feelings. As long as all parties consent, then it becomes a new way of expressing love to a family member, and can make you grow closer as a family.

3. Attraction: As with all sexual things, attraction is a big factor. Some people just find their family members hot and some people choose to pursue them for sexual favours. If they are able to convince them to do it then good for them i guess, of course some.. other.. individuals may choose rape - though its definitely un-recommended due to them being family, and it ends up being counter-productive.

4. Accidental: You know how all those porns go, accidentally walking in on someone masturbating, lewdness ensues. The porn may make it seem like a pipe-dream, but it is a reality - and its more likely to happen with family, siblings specifically. The family members in question may not have any attraction to incest, but if its a heat in the moment thing it could happen, and it could spark an interest in the taboo.



Personally, I'm not into incest. However I'm not a very judgemental person, I like to spend my time researching taboos in sex (incest, bestiality, etc.) and learning why people like them. I've discovered a few interesting things - such as the health benefits to a male dog in the practice of bestiality, and other things.
