Account deletions:

Account deletion does not mean your content get removed! they will be moved to a placeholder account, read the upload page, you agreed to keep your images on the site forever since this is an archive, you can't take them down unless you do a copyright takedown of your own art on the dmca email. Don't ask me to remove any content in the account deletion, I wont do it there, comments/forum posts will be auto removed.

If you have multiple accounts, you need to site mail from every single account to prove it's yours, any mail asking for several accounts to be removed will be rejected.

Mention what name you would like, 12 characters max, 3 minimum, no 4 numbers as it could be a discord tag, no special characters: *()- hearts etc, no requesting change of capital letters with the same name, the name must be different. Some have been sending requests with no name, please note I will utterly ignore mails with no name, it's just wasting time I could spend doing other things having to ask you for a name, send a name for a name change, if you cannot do that, you cannot have your name changed.

Remove image or delete because you made a mistake on one image or the image is corrupted:

Simply contact Kielan via site mail/DM and request it= MyAccount>MyMail. rule34.xxx/index.php?page=gmail&s=send_pm put the name Kielan in the send to box.

Please put in the title of the site mail what it is about. 'Image removal' . Putting "hello" as the title means Admin is not sure what the mail is about and it may get left till last.

If you are the copyright holder of images email [email protected] and request there with proof.

If not the copyright holder a user can only remove an image via email to [email protected] if they remove a corrected version, or they uploaded an image against our tos by mistake, or an image that has an obvious error, if you simply want to remove it, the site will decline since we are not an image host but an archive.

If image removal of more than one or a desire to remove all your uploads, we are an archive, we are not imgur/tumblr, so you need a very good reason for removing content from our site, we presume you are uploading something forever here, so please never upload anything you feel you may remove later, we will refuse any whim wanting to remove, or removing because of staff actions, we will just say no, don't waste your time.

Good reasons are things like uploading a superior version which you must upload first, or if you feel it breaks our ToS in some way, you can risk-free report your own image and get no consequences for correcting the mistake yourself.

Account deletion request will be processed and you cannot back out of it, don't request unless you are sure, if you are account locked and request account deletion, we will ban you to ensure you cannot just make a new account and get away with it, so best to contact mods to negotiate unlock first.

If you are banned account deletion will be ignored since we don't have to remove if you got banned.

- We cannot change passwords, it can be done via the link below the login, if you registered with an email address a password reset link will be emailed to you (if you did not register with an email you cannot reset your password). Or you can change your password in "My Account" top left.

Remember to check spam/social/trash folders, check case of user name and email put into the boxes and make sure they are the correct way around.

- If it looks/appears as if it has young or young teen human anatomy it is loli for females and sh0ta for males, older teenagers are fine to remain, remember in some images the artist will draw them too young and in others a bit older so if they are drawn older, they may be OK to remain.

You can be sure that opinions will differ slightly on gauging anatomy, but ultimately it is up to us to determine if content is loli/sh0ta, please accept and do not report again reported images that have been unflagged, though you can appeal the decision.

The confusion begins when you consider fictional age or that the character is automatically a certain age based on Canon, remember that's not the case with fan art.

Fictional canon age cannot be applied to fan art, because fictional age does not help when the artist draws them older or younger anatomy than they are in the official media.

We will never consider canon age because it is inaccurate, because the fan art is not the same as the canon, because Japanese canon age's are often insanely different to the anatomy, yeah sure some artists use underage characters on purpose, if they draw them as loli/shota it will be removed, if not and they drew them old enough to remain here, it wont be removed, simple as that and we are never changing our stance on that.

We go by how mature the anatomy IS, we go by as they appear in the image, image by image separately, because anatomy changes image by image sometimes in fan art, there are inconsistencies.

Fiction age also quite often differs from how mature the character looks, Japan fiction is well known for assigning age that does not match the anatomy of the characters.

We go by anatomy how?

The criteria is that they have the anatomy of loli/sh0ta which is mostly before teenager anatomy this is our main concern to remove.

We check anatomy by: head, shoulders, chest, waist/hips, thighs, legs, feet, all are checked to make sure they have the development of the anatomy to not be the prohibited content.

What often causes confusion is when the face, or the chest or the legs etc is judged to be prohibited but the rest is fine, can't really help that, we do try to make sure that we look at the overall picture and not just fail on one anatomy that the artist may have drawn.

AI generated content often produces anatomy which is loli/shota in a couple of body parts, this can make it hard to understand why we have removed the post, often the face or genitalia is created too young by the generator.



- Our advertisers, all banks etc have terms of service that forbid this sort of content, especially after the UN ruling.

So we have to remove them proactively to be able to exist, it has become an existential threat to this site, it is a simple fact of life that you must comply with the rules, it isn't something we have decided as our policy, we simply must adhere to all rules we are subject to.

We try to archive as much porn as possible for posterity, but some is just too controversial for advertisers and companies.

It is also very controversial/disturbing for the average user who does not wish to see that content, so it fixes that issue also.

No adverts = no Rule34, money to pay for this site has to come from somewhere.

Do not upload drawn depictions with anatomy of sh0ta/loli, you will get permanently banned and don't expect much warning, please contact staff if you upload by mistake.

We block loli/sh0ta because we are required to.

Cub involves no depictions of human beings, there are no laws covering depictions of fictional animals, there are no requirements not to host this content, our policy is to allow as long as we are not required to remove it so we allow most of it, we do remove cub infants however or if the mod thinks it's too disturbing,

Block it in your tag blacklist if this offends you, trying to change the world is insanity and leads to far more suffering than it saves.

Also Cub is typically anthro animals, it's an animal, don't use human young terms like loli/shota for animals, because doing so is very messed up and sick in the head if you see that in anthro animals, we ban sick weirdo's here.

Why do we not remove every single one? because R34 is moderated by volunteers who have to spent allot of time dealing with people uploading loli/shota and don't have time to clear the backlog, maybe stop creating work for them?

Why do you not remove this other similar content? well why does anything against the rules not get done? is it because we allow it? no that makes no sense. It's because staff simply are not omnipotent and have not found it yet.

It does not mean for a millisecond it means we condone or allow it, we gotto do what we gotto do to exist and stick to rules and laws, please respect that and aim the distain for it at the people setting these, we abide by others rules and laws, we don't set those and there's nothing we can do.

Edits became too numerous and it became too large a job to moderate, we received also many complaints and decided to end hosting edits.

There are many posts listed as edits that are not actually edits of other artists works, but edits done by the original artists, do not look at this as an excuse to upload edits, you will get banned.

Site licensing will not allow anyone but the owner and the special status of a one off coder to see the code of the website, so we cannot develop with anyone else either.

We will not be developing new features as there is a big backlog in site improvements from copyright system, to mail system, to limiting new accounts so we can have the RP request thread back among other pressing improvements that need doing first.

Go to My account>Options> Original images near the bottom and select default behavior and remember to hit save button below it.

Whatever tags you place in the blackt will be blocked, if you wish to see them again, simply remove tags from the tag blackt box.

If the image isn't tagged correctly it will still show up, you can help by editing the image and adding the tag that is missing, be sure it is correct!

We get allot of uploads being a busy site, this means the mods cannot find and remove everything, we know they are real people, volunteering their precious time to help us out.

We know they are human beings with limitations, with this obvious knowledge, why do you think a post was not removed? which seems more likely?

That we are targeting only you because of some kind of personal agenda? or that staff are managing large volumes of content and you just unluckily got found and someone else did not get found.

Simply report those who got away with it, because the mods missed it, or maybe the image was aged up enough and yours was not, who knows? perhaps you are upset and things look borderline and they are not, ultimately it's up to the mods decide what stays and what goes (someone has to) and they do their best to decide based on the facts of the image and if they made a mistake Admin the referee of it all will decide.

What is certain is, we will never target anyone, we have no time or reason to do so, if you think we are, we cannot change your mind about that, it is what it is, please go use another website if you think that.

Or find a way to prove it that does not involve pointing out works that simply got missed, that proves nothing but the mods are handing large volumes of content and miss some things, if your post has been mistakenly removed, it should be easy to point out to Admin and if it's a fact, I will see it.

- The artist or company owns the copyright usually, even if someone commissions a work, they and they alone decide if an artwork remains and gets publicity and backed up here, we remove all images/photo's requested to be taken down through our DMCA email system, we comply with all DMCA requests.

It's also not technically 'stealing', because the original remains with the creator, we don't charge for the artwork or claim it is ours, so technically nothing has been stolen.

We also do not upload anything from the artist/content creator, so the site never steals artwork, all content is uploaded from other sites automatically or from users, no large website can entirely remove every single image right away, we do have responsibility to take down works uploaded without permission when reported and we do just that absolutely.

It's like if someone donates a book to a library or second hand book store, do you accuse the library/store of stealing because they haven't the time to ask every artist if it is OK to archive their work? no of course not that is not feasible or reasonable.

You are not entitled to a warning if it's obvious, saying you didn't get a warning is NOT grounds for appeal.

- Sometimes you get a warning about what you are doing wrong, sometimes not, usually a ban is for something against the sites terms of service, IF (sometimes we ban without warning) you get a warning, you will get banned if you ignore them, if people do what they want, the site is chaos and a mess, the terms are there to prevent that.

All accounts are permanently de-activated and all comments removed in one click easily. The account is lost for good, this is the consequence, the banned can return one day, but when they do, hopefully they wont repeat the same reason they got banned for.

Those wishing to appeal can do so at email [email protected] ONLY IF THE BAN WAS DEFINITELY IN ERROR OR OBVIOUSLY EXCESSIVE, IF YOU DID IT YOU WONT BE UNBANNED, APOLOGY WONT GET YOU UNBANNED.

Just because something 'against the ToS' remains on this site and is not removed right away, does not mean it is 'allowed' it means it has not been discovered yet.

Please remember this in all things in life as this is a dangerous argument to justify doing things against the rules, because if you think something is allowed because it has not been stopped yet... you will end up getting banned from places, or worse become a criminal by thinking it's alright to break the law since others are doing it.

For example it's like thinking it's alright to steal because a cop didn't catch you right away, or the cop didn't catch the other thief right away... understand most get caught and have to endure the consequences, better not to do it.

Images get missed due to the time of day, how many eyeballs are watching out for tos violating images, human error, etc etc.

There are many reasons why stuff gets missed.

It may have been missed! (or maybe it's not against the ToS and you think it is) and it's an awesome thing for you guys to report it, using the flag for deletion link when you view an image or next to someones comment, giving a good reason there and reporting the image/comment, it helps so much and we really appreciate it! bare in mind if it doesn't get removed after reporting, an has decided it's not in violation of the terms and can stay.

You have every right to ask me via mail why it wasn't removed, but please refer to a specific image/comment and not be massively vague and ask 'why are images in general are not getting removed??', we need to know what you are referring to. Thanks!

Different tagging system, Rule34.xxx allows many more tags to make images easier to find.
