I just sent a message to one of the admins, so I hope something happens.

Hi,

It means someone mailed you and then either got banned or removed their message to you, you still unfortunately get notified and may even see a ghost message, but the person who sent it to you almost 95% sure has deleted it.

There is no need to be concerned, the mailing system is working fine, it just handles mails live a conversation, so if the sender deletes it, it's gone for the receiver as well which confuses people.

If you still have issues, disable your ad blocker, internet security software and try another device and see if you get the same issue.

Most users are not having issues, so it's most likely ppl sending allot of mails and then deciding to remove them all, or spamming etc.

There is no issue, the sender deleted the mail to you, it removes the mail entirely.

Ahh- I guess everyone's having the same problem as I do, huh? The messages I'd received are gone too
(´・×・`)

Eh- you just joined though?

Yep, I received the "You have mail" notifications and I did see some messages
But when I clicked on it, it showed nothing, and when I checked back the inbox it was as if I didn't receive any...

OH that's what you people are talking about. That glitch has been around for a long, long time.

It is not a glitch, the sender deletes the mail either unintentionally, or thinks they can just remove it because it's been sent, not realizing it erases the entire mail forever for the receiver as well. There is no mail glitch, this is nonsense.

Yup, something slowly eating my inbox

The sender deletes their sent mail and it deletes it at your end as well, the sender has not realized this, pretty simple.

I'm having a similar inbox problem

Any ideas on how to fix it? Because I'm stumped.

Mail the person sending you mail and ask them to stop removing their outbox mail, only way to remove mail is to delete it at one of the ends.

I was talking to a user in the mail session, after a while I wanted to open a message to read it but when I pressed it, it was deleted when I pressed away from the X, as sometimes it deletes the message and sometimes it doesn't, will it be an error of the page or my cell phone?

The red x is to delete the mail, it also deletes it for whoever you sent it to as well. It just removes the entire message for the sender and receiver. It works every time so if it does not, you simply didn't click it.

Many people click this by accident all the time removing the entire mailing for both parties, causing a bit of confusion for a few users not used to an old fashioned dialogue mailing system, it's a bit like discord in that when you click to close it with the x or delete the mail you lose the DM.

Anyone claiming their entire inbox is melting away, show a video of this happening, or screenshot or any shred of evidence, so far no evidence has been given, all we have is a tiny amount of over-exaggerated claims. A mail cannot go anywhere unless someone on either end deleted it.

I've made FAQ 46 to answer this one: rule34.xxx/index.php?page...;id=4356&pid=0#443081

If anyone is able to get some actual evidence of the occurance, please send screenshots or video on discord or dm on the site.

In many cases, I was the sender. I have never deleted a message to or from anyone. Messages I sent to him disappear from my outbox and his inbox, although ones I receive from him are unaffected. I know this would normally be because he's deleting messages I sent, but in that case he wouldn't be complaining to me in PM that my messages are disappearing. This only started within the past couple of days as far as I can tell, and messages from our previous conversations are unaffected. I did not know it was possible to remove outbox mail, but it is unlikely I have been doing so accidentally, as no one else I have been talking to lately has been affected. These facts combined with the number of people with such complaints cause me to struggle to believe there isn't a problem. Even if it is not an issue with the site itself, there must be some common factor among affected users, potentially some third-party application, software, or browser extension which is interfering with their use of the mailing system.

The person you are sending them to deleted them either knowingly or by mistake, this is the only way mails get deleted if the sender or reciever deletes it, it is gone for both.

If you notice many mails going missing and screenshot it or video it, let me know via DM on here or on discord.

Images aren't showing up, it's just a list of tags for thumbnails, and if you click on it it still doesn't show up.

Edit: it only does it for about a page and a half, then clears up.

One of our image servers is overloaded, problem should be solved in about 10 min.

FAQ 46 rule34.xxx/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=4356

Now answers the mail issue a few people are bringing up, any more posts on this will be removed as there is NO bugs, mail goes because someone (sender or receiver) deleted one of the mails which sometimes removes both, mail does not arrive because no one sent you anything or they typed your name in wrong in the 'sent to:' box, simple.

If you want to believe a fantasy that there is an new issue or a bug with the mailing system which has not had one in 10 years and we have confirmed has not got any new bugs or issues that we can recreate, go ahead and believe that nonsense, but don't write about that nonsense here and not on this forum and not in these comments, because it's not true or based in reality.

FAQ46 points out the boring reality, which is the mailing system is out of date in deleting the mail for both parties occasionally when one deletes the mail also all the replies in that discussion.

Having two boxes not carefully laid out on top of each other highlighted, means people write the user name in the wrong box and hit send and get no noticeable feedback if it's wrong, or simply don't write it correctly (typo etc) and so the receiver gets no mail.

This is more of a personal issue, but the tag detection stopped working for me, after I messed around with some add-ons in Firefox.

Before this happened, if I typed anything in the search bar or editing tag, it would show all available tags with number of entries for each.

Granted, it would overwrite the personal autocomplete function for freq. visited searches, but I thought it was more helpful than that.

What did I disable to make that not work anymore?

Cookies, Java, HTTP5?

I don't know if this has been reported already, but now, when I'm logging in, I have to do it twice. The first time, it just reloads the page, as if the login process failed or something.

I don't know if it has any relation, but I think it started to happen when the "checking your browser" thing appeared, which I assume is there to protect the page from DDoS atacks and bots, so I don't mind it.
