In my honest opinion, the American Revolution should never have happened much less America should never have won the war. Had we realized that we owed the Crown a shitload of money since like 1763 for keeping us from becoming owned by the French and split up back to the Native Americans and just paid the damn tax money (3% at its highest) there would've been no problems. Also, maybe if the Imperial Commonwealth was fairly represented in Parliament as well and we all had equal protection of rights under such representation. But seriously, Britain spends a shitload of money (literally bankrupts the treasury keeping America British) protecting us AND having to fight the French in Europe as well and we tell them NO WE DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY. Of course, they'll get pissed. And the more pissed they got, the more taxes we hit them with. Therefore, the more we cooperated, the less taxes they probably would've hit us with. They just wanted their money back which could've been gained in a few year easily through trade plus taxes. America could've been the centerpiece of the British Empire for at least 150 years or so instead of fucking India. We could've been greater than we are now...
