It is a little weird, considering men are hardwired to be the exact opposite, but as long as you're not hurting anyone you should be fine :)

Definitely not. Being a “wife” is often associated with submission and a lot of subs do enjoy the idea of being a wife even if they’re male. Of course I know it’s not all about the sexual power dynamics but it’s something that appeals to a lot of people

men aren't actually hardwired to be 'the exact opposite'. it's all just social constructs - just check the chambri tribe in papua new guinea, their tribe have women acting as the more extraverted, competitive ones (such traits being considered to he 'masculine) while men are taught to care more for their appearance and are sensitive (and those traits are often associated with being feminine)! ^^

I wanted to say something like that as well (may I add your adorable) but wasn’t sure if they meant hardwired by society or as a natural thing cuz well men are definitely pressured to be one thing but I do believe a househusband would be a super cute idea

(aww thank you!!) yeah now that you mention it i wonder if she meant hardwired as in a natural thing or pressured by society so i assumed the former. however the latter is also (unfortunately) correct, though I feel like with time people are becoming more and more accepting of househusbands! and yes i agree, a househusband sounds super adorable, even though i don't really plan to get married anytime soon lol

But I will admit I’d enjoy “protecting” my house hubby from other people saying bad things about him if it were to occur. Cuz I am so ready to fight to make my partner happy (also even though I’m asexual am not sure I’ll ever even end up in a long term relationship)

I'll echo everyone else's sentiments here: No, not strange at all. If you find a partner who enthusiastically supports you in this, then that's all the better.

This. Really well said! If she meant hardwired in a natural sense, then that's probably the weirdest and most out of touch take in this entire thread

Yes. You are strange.
And you should not give a single fuck, because strange people are far more interesting.

Be strange. Be a cookie-baking housewife. Be interesting.

The idea that men and women are the same 'from the neck up' and that all differences in behavior are the result of social conditioning has been thoroughly debunked.
