I think kinks usually develop in defiance of social norm.

The norm is sex between two people > Group sex

The norm is man penetrates woman > Pegging

The only one I think is not a result of social norm defiance is Bondage and bdsm. Those are just ways to spice things up with your partner/partners. (Although it could also work as a defiance, but in a more case by case basis)

Unpopular opinion, but I do think soft femdom is a bit of a paradox. Dom, short for domination, a synonym for crush, subjugate, topple, conquer...
