How to reply to a comment
I'm unaware of how you can reply to someone's comment. I can't click on someone's number post like I can on a image-board or social media with a "@".
That's the neat part. You don't.
Then how is someone is supposed to know to your trying to reply to them? It's makes no sense that there isn't a way to reply to a comment.

Just type their name or DM them? It's not a big deal.

I actually didn’t realize that forum posts had ids lol, but yes, that’s what I was referring to

How do you see the numbers
For forum posts, the 'link' command has the posts unique id. For ordinary comments, there are > > # tiny numbers right after the name of the poster.

Pretty much this, as far as I know. The others already pointed out those ways in the previous replies above, so I'm not really aware of other methods people use to reply to others.
Now whether the other person you're responding to will reply back, no one really knows
