At least give people the basic premise. Weird videos screw up my YouTube suggestions, so I ain't clicking no strange link.

This just seems like an AD, and unless you explain beforehand what even is the video about, this thread just seem extremelly pointless, and could even be seen as a suspicious link.

Ah, yes, undoubtedly full of real science that got scienced up by scientists in a science lab, and not a bunch of anecdotal crap with no backing being spewed by a Karen, or worse, some literal troll just trying to "trigger" people.

I was gonna say the same thing but to be fair he does cite a lot of sources and studies that demonstrate the effects of hentai/porn on the brain and a few psychological studies.

But that's not stopping me because I can't read!

Well he does provide sources, the info is somewhat shaky, and apparently he made one about pornography in general, which both only apply to people in more extreme situations or people who are too young to grasp the concepts really provided. And there's so many people talking shit about hentai artists in the comments like "Oh, they have so much talent, but they waste it on this profane material." Like, they're enjoying themselves like that unless they're just in it for the money. There's even people kinkshaming feet in the comments, which is the least offensive common fetish there is in how he presented it. Though I do think when he brings up the fact that Japan has a problem with lolicons. It's a pretty good thing to realize that the artists generally are interested in actual people of that type, and use references of them in illegal images.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that there's no real problem with pornography other than the way society will judge you for it and the fact that porn actors/actresses are exploited heavily. Pay for your porn, guys, that way you can be sure that it is ethically sourced.

Speaking of sources, he doesn't take them out of context or misrepresent them, but there's clear bias within and throughout, it's clear that they're more so selling a message in most, and others are simply talking about those who have developed porn addictions, which are serious cases that need to be looked at seriously, but don't have much to do with a majority of people.

So, uh, I think the guy made a neat video in terms of it being a discussion video, looks good and is well edited, but I can't agree with his points on an intellectual or moral basis because he seems to be preaching in a moral high ground and lying to our faces about an issue that isn't as widespread or important as he seems to believe. Certainly I'm sure a lot of you were exposed to some sort of porn/hentai when you were younger, and I know for sure fetish content is being marketed towards a younger generation on YouTube with YouTube Kids. Now there's an issue right there that shapes people's kinks and can make people feel awful about themselves for feeling certain ways for things they don't enjoy cognitively. He just seems so... mislead?

Long story short, it's a neat watch, but not really a good take. If you like debating topics it'd be nice to learn more about the anti-porn side. If you aren't, it's not really enjoyable to just watch if you don't agree with the points and it's not all too informative.

Remember, quality over quantity, it's the golden rule of citing, a guy with a dozen sources can still be wrong when a guy with one can be correct. But the amount of sources ((Fifteen in total, five being mostly anecdotal which can be fine for more general overviews which he tends to use them for)) are rather impressive to see.

It can negatively influence your life, yes, people can become dependent on the satisfaction they get from porn, but destroying your mind is an exaggeration. People who are addicted to porn generally spend so much time watching that they lose out on relationships and even sleep. It's less an issue of "porn is bad" and more of "People have unhealthy obsessions, porn can be one of them". It opens up that addictive pathways that things like church and mild drugs do that give you a rush of good vibes. Easy to fall into a pit if that's all you have to do in your free time.

My opinion is that some people think they possess more agency than they actually have, to speak for others as brazenly as they do. Humans are the most individualistic species of animal on the planet, so sweeping psychological assertions like that made by the title of the video hold little weight.

Did not click the link or watch anything. Like Blarghonator said, I'm not giving the algorithm fodder to fuck up my suggestions any further. Without watching anything I can already say what I say for anything similar to this: anything done in excess can alter your brain chemistry.

So the answer is yes, but also hentai isn't a special case. Video games, sex, food - hell, even reading. Anything that gives you the feel good chemicals can lead to addiction and dependence, and can even warp how you think about other stuff in relation.

And you can trust me. I took an introductory psych course in college, so I'm basically an expert! =P
