What do you define as "real" friendship? Depending on what it is, the answer changes drastically.

I've found one genuine friend here from a few years ago on here, still chat and roleplay with her. So, yeah. It's rare, but possible.

It is, sadly even then. It'll go silent at one point, weather you're chatting for a month to around a year from my experiences. Ties will be cut without knowing so I gave up on that.

Yes. I met someone here strictly for RP and we wound talking for over a year. Watching anime/movies together. Talking together about life and such.

Another user who I have been RPing with for over a year has also become quite a good friend. Possibly the best imo

I've been talking to people met on here for years. Mainly on Discord these days since more appropriate and don't have to worry about acting as the mod. 1 group I'm in half of us met in an RP thread.
