Within the Draconarian Space Corps voyaging to Earth on the scientific ship Explorer to bring back human samples was an unpopular assignment, as it was such a long journey.
To improve crew morale its was decided that once the Explorer had collected the number of humans requested by the government, each crew member was allowed to acquire one human for personal use. This provided them with a soft skinned, warm blooded pet to keep them company on the return journey. On arrival on Draconaria Four, crew members could sell their pets for vast sums of credits to private menageries and upmarket brothels.
The Explorer's captain noticed that the city hospital usually yielded the type of human that was popular with her crew, and headed there on the day before departure for home.

When the Alien abducted her, Nurse Larsen initially assumed she would be taken to UFO's laboratory to be probed - which she was looking forward to - then returned to Earth in time for the end of her shift.
