A fortnight after the Roman merchants were attacked near her village, Eilidh's life changed forever.
A legion arrived from the Antonine Wall and soon all the men folk lay slaughtered in the glen. The Legionnaires then stormed the village, where the women were grabbed, stripped bare and taken as prizes of war.
Over the following weeks Eilidh was marched south in a coffle with the most beautiful of the village girls.
