Mai is great, especially for Zuko. She's a much better fit for his reserved and melancholy personality than Ty Lee would ever be. The few times Zuko and Ty Lee interact in the show, he doesn't even seem to like her. I'm eick of Ma catching strays all the time but I suppose it is preferable to all the incest and/or cucking shit that tends to pop up on every damn post.
Well honestly I just hate Mai because in the comics, she dumps Zuko because he visits his mentally ill sister because he doesn't want to see her suffer. There is more to the Mai hate as well, but really she is just boring and gives goth chicks a lame name.
That isn't accurat to what actually happened. She doesn't dump Zuko because he visited Azula (though that would be a reasonable action for Mai to take too, Azula is sympathetic and tragic but she's also incredibly dangerous and extremely manipulative), she dumped him because he hid the fact that he had repeatedly visited Ozai for advice. She dumped him bacause "he loves his secrets more than he loves her". Of course sooner or later they're gonna get back together since Fire Lord Izumi is really obviously their kid. I take exception to her being boring though, she's the most emotionally stable member of the Fire Nation kids, she fights in a completely unique to her way and Zuko brings out her more passionate hidden side nicely. Hell, she's got more personality than Raven (another cartoon goth chick) from Teen Titans does and people fuckin love her.
