The Rebel army suspected that the Federal forces were receiving intelligence from the farms in the northern counties. Knowing many of those farms were run by women whose husbands were away fighting in the government army, the rebels despatched armed guerrillas to intimidate the farmers into silence.
The Federal army responded by swapping out farm women with female troops who acted as bait for the rebels, while Special Forces teams lay in wait near the farms.

Sergeant: "Well done radioing us that message before the rebel scum overpowered you, McPherson. Sorry we were slow getting here."
McPherson: "Glad to play my part, sir. And I kinda enjoyed that underwear bondage session anyway."
Sergeant: "Okay. The deal is: these two get sold to the Army Bordello Brigade, so you receive a two million dollar bounty."
McPherson: "That certainly makes it all worth while. So they get shipped back to the brothel house at Fort Citadel?"
Sergeant: "No, we now favour field deployment of Pleasure Troops. We're gonna leave them tied here at the farm gate, so passing troop columns can stop by for 'refreshment'. We can take them in the barn when it's raining."
