It restores them to their prime or heals injuries, and sometimes revives the dead. This isn't her getting powers, just demonstrating the magic taking effect because the pit makes its user ravenous for a sec.

And, depending on the interpretation, sometimes powers do come from the Lazarus pit. Like Jason Todd in Gotham Knights. Although that was dumb.
