Meh. Netflix series is... good enough. Didn't sweep me off my feet with some fancy Capoeira dance-shuffle. Best thing about it was Luffy's actor, very Luffy-like guy, full of positive energy. It was FINE. They could've done it better, both with production and with pacing... But I get it, budget didn't permit it. Although then the question is why bother to make it in the first place? One Piece deserves the best- nay, the cutting edge! Not sub-par or barely par... :|

The issue with the live action is that it takes a series that is super animated with it's setting and characters and waters them down to live action versions while trying to give that same appeal. The series thrives in 2D animation and art because Oda has mastered the craft of the cartoon while the anime has more or less given us that same feeling. The live action doesn't add anything and makes it worse by constraining itself within the medium. The only possible reason they made it was so it can draw in new fans that don't want to watch something animated because they think it's for kids.

@18122058 Fair. I’ve heard this as well. It is here to draw some new blood into the adventure, and it supposedly did its job. @18412463 And yes, of course I enjoyed it. Just... when the new batch, that’s starting with Live Action, gets into the anime, they’re gonna be... confused. Which is SHITE, but what can you do? The constraints of a Live Action are ruthless. They were forced to film indoors most the time, cause didn’t have funds for all the fancy locations - I get it. As I previously stated, it was fine for what it was. But I do hope Nami gets these two very important developments in the coming seasons. She is a growing girl, after all!
