By 2072, with the aid of AI augmented research efforts (and replacing underpaid grad students), genetic modification programs had learned to reshape the human body to fit the whims of mankind. Naturally, the US government soon after approved a unique new solution for those unable to pay off their student debts: becoming research subjects at the forefront of body modification. Of course, regulatory oversight of the programs was... limited, and "volunteer subjects" frequently vanished. I should probably regret the situation... but honestly, I'm just glad that I didn't get shipped to one of those Debtor Detention Centers along the southern border, now that average monthly temperatures are around 135°F! Yep, I guess it's not so bad, standing here, shaking my six tits for the amusement of a roomful of depraved trillionaires on one of their many private island compounds... at least it's air conditioned!
