It appears that the size is inversely proportional to empathy. A person set to twice their normal size will be half as empathetic. Subject 83, who has been set to over 100 times her size, has no care for human life at all. She isn't actively malicious, for that would require her to care about potential victims suffering enough to enjoy it, but there is nothing keeping her from deciding that the benefit of a vastly available food source outweighs the risks of humanity fighting back.
