It's fucking fantastic! Maybe a little tough to grasp if you haven't played MH before, and this character is someone you only meet in the expansion, but I'm playing right now and it's great.

Grinding is the name of the game in Monster Hunter. Hope you like doing it, and hope you like doing it a lot. It also requires a lot of skill, even at the outset, and the games don't hold your hand at all. It's git gud or git out.

Nah, I wouldn't say it's like Dark Souls. It's not so difficult as in "anything and everything can and will kill you", so much as you NEED to know what you're doing if you don't want to just flail about uselessly as your target zooms around and takes an eternity to die.
