When Hilda lost the battle with N, Team Plasma was able to realize its goals, and Hilda was held as their captive. However, N had learned much throughout his travels and from Hilda, and took an even more active role in guiding his followers and instituting change across the region, even convincing Team Plasma to release their pokemon along with everyone else. He was also kind to Hilda in her imprisonment, and the two grew very close over the next several years. Once Hilda realized she loved N, she begged to become his bride, though this was now impossible as N had been forced to take another and his advisors would never let Hilda become Queen. So instead, N took her as a harem concubine, so even though she remained in chains all her days, Hilda was able to love and be loved by N, the misfortune of her failure from before finally yielding something wonderful for her life.
