Grab some Stone (If you don't have any you can smelt cobblestone to get some), then smelt the stone in a furnace, grab the smooth stone from the furnace, craft some smooth stone slabs (only one is needed), and then get 6 sticks, put the slab on the bottom middle slot and fill every slot with sticks except the middle left and middle right
