As an SFM artist myself, i totally recommend using SFM. SFM has a pretty much better quality and posing than Gmod IF you know how to pose well, the renders are better quality compared to Gmod, you may need a good quality monitor depending on what quality you want your render to be, i'd still recommend SFM because it makes better art and lighting, and you can also create scenebuilds better than Gmod
