Why did the artist portray her as being French? Is this some kind of desperate appropriation attempt? How many French people are called Mitsuro Kirjo? Her parents in the game are also Takeharu and Hanae. Nowhere in the game does it ever mention France (it's actually based in Tokyo), it's obvious she is a Japanese game character like the rest in the game. Why some western artists have to redraw characters and appropriate them to their own country is beyond me.

Notice they relegate the original anime to a "version", as if it's some side thing. In reality there is no such thing as a Japanese version, it's actually the original anime. You have the original anime, then you have the English/Spanish/Chinese/Thai dub versions.

Most on rule34 are fully on the spectrum I have found, it's like a bunch of Chris Chan type people essentially.
