Emerald's would in fact not work because she has to focus it on one person. Even influencing two is incredibly hard for her.

Well, when I originally commissioned the first Emerald pic it was in a non-canon setting where she could affect everyone.

Emerald literally effected an entire stadium plus camera's with her semblance. So, yeah ... where exactly is it hard for her? Oh, she also did so TWICE.

@Samira In the show Emerald didn't use her semblance on the whole stadium and cameras, what the camera shows is what really happened, but what Yang saw was a hallucination. Mercury didn't really attack Yang, but she saw him while hallucinating.

Yeah, not really sure where people get the idea that she was causing the entire stadium to hallucinate (including the cameras that are entirely incapable of hallucinating) instead of just Yang. Not only does Emerald flat out state that it's hard for her to use it on more than one person at a time, but even without that confirmation it still just makes more sense. She would have no reason do use it on that scale when could achieve the same results without nearly as much effort by just causing one person to hallucinate. Heck, MOST of what Cinder's team does during the tournament makes no sense and is just unnecessarily convoluted if Emerald could use her abilities on that scale.
