December 18th; the world changed. Gone were the everyday insanity and wonder at the whims of Hatuhi Suzumiya; Aliens, Time-travellers, ESPers, talking cats, whatever stewed in the boisterous girls subconscious now replaced with a calm peaceful world. Mundane, everyday life; you had the oppoerunity to revert the world to how it was. It would have been as easy as pressing the enter key for a second time, nothing more grandiose than finishing what you had brought the members of the S.O.S Brigade together to do... but there was hesitation, torn between the two worlds. All of it orchestrated by Yuki Nagato, having the effective power of a God for a brief moment, she spent that power on what you'd always expressed that you wanted; Freedom from the natural disaster that dragged you into her plots, and a peaceful every day life. Everything was carefully planned out to ensure that each member would be living a happy life... for her, she's simultaneously changed the most and least, from an alien interface, to a normal girl, easily shaken by the cold, her seeming stoicism having become a timidity that in your eyes might express more than any of Haruhi's outbursts had. All she had done for herself, is leave one encounter with you, that she cherishes from the bottom of her heart, the time you helped her get a library card. Of everything in her life she chose to cling to that, so that even in this world she'd crafted for your happiness, even if she doesn't know what she's done, she'd get to be by your side... and it didn't even take until Christmas for it to come to this, Nagato willing to bear it all, now fully human. From an entity that shouldn't be capable of experiencing love, to the woman who's heart would overflow if you called her your wife. Perhaps it was your hope for this future that made choosing this mundane truth, because this ordinary miracle is all you ever really wanted.
