@Anon Because the links I usually provide contains webm/mp4 files instead of gifs, and they are much lighter and look better.

Let's check this animation as an extreme example: rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1859044

-The original 1920x1080 webm: 2MB
-The original 1920x1080 gif: 105MB
-The gif I uploaded: 4,16MB

Would you really prefer to have to load those 100MB when you can have the webm with just one click more?

Let's hope that someday, as in other boorus, webms are supported here.
