10,000 credits?! I've seen lightsabers go for 22k, and even that was grossly overpriced!

Actually, it's not too absurd of a price. I played a twi'lek slave in a Star Wars tabletop game in the past, and there's a table out there that shows ways that slaves in Star Wars can have their prices effected. Without ticking all of the value boxes, my twi'lek cost 8,000. There are a few more points that weren't added in as we were level one characters, but basically, gaining a level beyond level one adds an additional 500 credits to the price. This means that a level three character has an additional 1,000 credit cost, and a level four costs 1,500 extra credits. Then there are the Heroic levels which add another 1,000 per Heroic level. So, if we start applying headcanon or whatever, it's not too hard to say that this twi'lek was someone important, but didn't have any friends looking for them. They might have been a gang leader who lost all her mooks, and was taken prisoner by a three-bit gangster, and sold off for profit. With that sort of story, converted into gaming terms, yeah, 10,000 credits is within the realm of possibility.
