check out the webs they spin

maybe they're lines of coke, used as bait to prey on junkies
I love the black and yellow ones, I like calling them one of their least known names, the Silver-Gilded face.

Spider/cricket hybrids love my basement in the winter, black widows commonly nest in my shed, a predatory bird dropped a snapping turtle into my pool, and I saw a baby snake in my friend's basement.
I just realized that I've been in Maryland for 19 years and I've never seen a live crab...

I remember the turtle! You were fucking terrified, it was great.

Common snapping turtles are very aggressive if caught, and have a strong enough bite to easily cut off human fingers

Oh jesus, okay fair enough!

I consider that pretty damn impressive that I went toe to scaly toe with one in water and emerged unscathed.

My brother once saw a family of wild boar while canoeing not far from where I live, but I've never seen anything that exotic. Here in Florida, we definitely have a wide variety of fauna, both native and invasive species.

Yes, I have seen an alligator in the wild. It only happened once, and it she was small thing, maybe one or two feet long (half a meter). I saw her in my backyard, but that is the only time I have seen a gator outside of captivity in the nearly twenty years that I have lived in the Sunshine State.

Come to think of it, I could almost say exactly the same, except substituting "alligator" with "platypus".
Long time ago though; don't remember too well.

Well, I'm a birdwatcher, so all I see and hear when I go outside is birds XD .

Lots and lots of Robins (the American kind) and Juncos, mostly. Although Juncos get replaced with Chipping Sparrows in the summer. I've probably rambled on too much already XD ; this post will probably take up 2 full pages if I go on any further.

I'd say woodpeckers and humming birds are the most interesting wildlife around here.
