. . .
Looks like you've got some real potential here; I'm not really an artist myself, but I can suggest a few areas for improvement (in the images):
- Drawing some additional details in the eyes would make a huge difference; you might have to thin the lines or draw the eyes slightly bigger to make room for it though
- Your anatomy is quite accurate for the most part, but be sure to double-check arm lengths vs leg lengths. Remember elbows reach the waist, hands reach mid-thigh.
Best to do proportion adjustments on rough sketches or skeletons, using all the tools at your disposal (select, measure, scale, rotate, warp, etc.)
- Details in the ears would be good; no need to go overboard when drawing in cartoon-ish styles, but as with the eyes a little detail adds life to the characters. Or you can cover the ears with hair, that works too.
- The shading is a good start, but it needs to be less subtle / less soft to appear realistic. I'm not too sure what else to say about shading, maybe ask a more experienced artist.
- Draw lineart at a higher resolution; I reckon at least double the canvas sizes you're using now, if your PC can handle it.
- Try to 'sharpen' the lineart to avoid rounded endings; this mainly applies to the tips of the hair and the creases of the clothes
That's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps; keep it up!
